This is another picture of Applehead, this time in Acrylic paint rather than digital form. The image is a digital photo, which has been very slightly altered on the computer. Like most works, it looks better in the flesh, in this case because light tends to bounce off acrylic paints quite strongly. Any comments are appreciated, but considering I did this painting in one four-hour sitting, don't slag it off for being a bit rough. I'm lazy, so kill me.

I've filed as misc. again because although this is in effect an illustration for an (as-yet) unwritten horror story, it's not very horriffic.

i want to make out with apple head.
although, i can't imagine he'd be great at that.
nice. as one who does acrilics in her spare time, i sugjust that next time, you might want to take a bottle of mieral spirits on a rag, and just run it lightly over the painting. if you do it right, it'll smooth out the colors, and make it all shiny. on the other hand, if you do it wrong, it'll disolve what you have spent so long to do:)
so its prolly best to practice on something you don't care about, untill you get the hang of it:D

Thanks for the tip -- as I said, the colours aren't as bright as this in real-life, and the painting is really dark. Also, despite being quite lazy when I did this, I made the brush-strokes quite wild and uncontrolled in the apple on purpose. However, that's a really good tip, and when I get a chance I'll definately give it a go on a painting I'm less enamoured with (and there's a lot of those).

pretty unique style!
I quite like the texture to the image. But I think you could make the body a little less natural - a little more rigid - somehow I think it might make it better for the unrealness of horror. And fade the red out a bit more on the left.

I agree with the thing about the angular body, and hadn't noticed before. But I like the red there...and it's not so prominent in 'real-life', just here because of my stupid camera and the contrast on too high.
